AutoCAD 2024 from Autodesk is built to accelerate workflows. The AutoCAD Portfolio is flexible to meet design needs with AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT and the latest offering, AutoCAD Web.

AutoCAD

New AutoCAD 2024 features and assistive machine learning technology pave the way for teams to leverage automations. Tailor AutoCAD for your business needs and your specific industry through customizations—including application programming interfaces, thousands of third-party apps, and seven specialized toolsets with over 750,000 symbols, parts and detail components.

“AutoCAD 2024 introduces new machine learning capabilities to push the boundaries of productivity and speed up our customer’s workflows, whether it’s by saving them time in their common tasks or bringing them new ways to work and create,” says Dania El Hassan, director of AutoCAD Product Management. “With new features like Smart Blocks: Placement and Replacement and new updates to Markup Assist, we are proud of the continuous innovation that we’re able to deliver to our customers.”

Here are some innovations in AutoCAD 2024:

Activity Insights

Bridge information gaps in collaborative AutoCAD workflows and stay connected to essential data throughout project lifecycles. With Activity Insights, users can stay informed of relevant file changes and access throughout project lifecycle with details of multi-user activities in a DWG file, requiring almost no setup for files stored locally, on LAN, and on cloud servers.

Smart Blocks: Replacement

Quickly find the blocks needed and replace one or more of the blocks via machine learning-based suggestions, recently used blocks, and manual substitute block selection. These automations are built to save time and boost productivity, the company suggests.

Smart Blocks: Placement

Automatically place blocks in a drawing by inferring the position of the next block based on where users have inserted the same ones thus far in the DWG file, reducing the number of clicks.

Markup Import and Markup Assist Enhancements

Make cross-platform markup workflows faster through expanded machine learning capabilities and experience improvements, allowing ability to share and annotate drawings safely and securely across desktop, web, or mobile devices. With Markup Import, incorporate feedback from a PDF or printed paper and automate drafting changes to drawings. With enhanced Markup Assist, users can update existing drawing text and automatically fade the markups addressed. AutoCAD uses machine learning to detect certain instructions in the markup text enabling shortcuts to commands like “MOVE,” “COPY” or “ERASE.”
