Altium Announces PCB Design Tool

Altium, a provider of electronic design automation platforms, has released PCBWorks, a new PCB (printed circuit board) design tool. The software is intended to bridge the gap between electrical and mechanical workflows.

PCBWorks has a set of schematic capture and PCB layout tools that are paired with mechanical workflows from SolidWorks. With these workflows, design teams can change component placement, board shapes and mounting holes of PCBs in SolidWorks without interrupting mechanical designs.

The platform also manages ECOs (engineering change orders) changes in design data from SolidWorks to to PCBWorks with native SolidWorks files.
