Altair Releases PBS Professional 13.0

The platform has been modified to support businesses that want to move to exascale systems.

Altair has released PBS Professional 13.0, its high-performance computing (HPC) workload management and job scheduling platform. Version 13.0 has been enhanced to meet the needs of companies looking to prepare for the move to exascale, the company states.

Main features in this release include:

  • Million-core scalability that has been tested to more than 50,000 nodes
  • Startup of huge MPI jobs
  • Support for more than 1 million jobs per day
  • Expanded hook events for more plugin extensibility and customization
  • Fine-grained targeting for pre-emption, configurable at the queue level
  • More policy controls to match clients’ needs
  • Expanded support for Intel MPI and MPICH2, UNC paths as well as SLES 12 and RHEL 7
