Altair, Microsoft Form Partnership

Altair has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to offer high-performance computing (HPC) solutions on the Azure cloud computing platform. As part of this partnership, the companies will work to provide turnkey solutions that enable access to cloud HPC resources from any Web-enabled device.

The offerings will leverage Altair’s PBS Works platform for Web portal access. Initially the software will target manufacturing’s HPC demand for compute-intensive simulations such as CFD (computational fluid dynamics), crash and safety analysis, optimization and electromagnetics.
