Altair Adds CFD Capabilities to HyperWorks

The software will now include toolsets from nanoFluidX and ultraFluidX.

Altair has stated that FluiDyna has joined the Altair Partner Alliance, bringing nanoFluidX and ultraFluidX into its software portfolio. This means HyperWorks will have added capabilities for computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

ultrafluidX is suited to predict aerodynamic properties for vehicles of all types as well as building and environmental aerodynamics. The software uses the Lattice Boltzmann method for simulation and leverages GPU (graphics processing unit) technology for faster analysis results.

nanoFluidX is a Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics based fluid dynamics simulation tool that predicts the flow in complex geometries exposed to complex motion. It is suited to predict general free-surface and/or multi-phase flows.

“FluiDyna is delighted to be joining the Altair family,” said  Thomas Indinger, founder and CEO at FluiDyna. “The capabilities of nanoFluidX and ultraFluidX complement HyperWorks by adding alternative fluid flow modeling techniques. Together, we will be able to bring our mutual customers a more complete CFD solution.”
