Aleph Objects has introduced the new LulzBot TAZ 3D printer. The TAZ (formerly known as TK-0) has a print surface measuring 12 in. by 11 in. by 10 in., offering a print field roughly the size of a basketball.

“Rather than waiting months for a short-run manufacturing part, you can print a 3D object right from your desk. With this technology, we are advancing business productivity by reducing cost and the time it takes for rapid prototyping and product development,” said Jeff Moe, president of Aleph Objects.

Users can swap out or modify tool heads and materials easily, the company says. Print materials for the TAZ and other LulzBot printers include ABS and PLA in a variety of colors as well as HIPS, nylon and wood filament.

Additionally, an updated Budaschnozzle hot end provides finer resolution prints with a smooth surface finish. The TAZ ships next day, already calibrated with tool-free assembly, toolkit, unpacking guide and a 3D printing resource manual.
