AeroDynamic Solutions (ADS) announced the availability of ADS 5.6, a minor update to its turbomachinery CFD solution suite.
Release 5.6 includes several improvements to the automated speedline generation capability in the ADS Workbench, the company says. Users can now control the extent to which the speedline generator will attempt to reach numerical stall and choke. Up to eight levels may be specified, depending on whether the user is evaluating peak efficiency points or attempting to characterize operating range. Advanced charting has also been enhanced to allow for the comparison of speedline files. Speedlines also can now be generated automatically from within a project folder.
Structured meshes generated with Code Wand may now be coupled to unstructured meshes in Release 5.6. The software also includes an OHHH mesh partitioning option that allows a mesh to be broken up into as many as eight blocks for enhanced parallelization and faster turnaround time.
Code Wand has been enhanced to support split flow meshing to enable the incorporation of fans into the analysis domain. Fast Fourier Transform data can now be generated from time-accurate surface loading files produced by Code Leo. This information can be fed into the user’s structural analysis program of choice to pinpoint potential sources of high cycle fatigue.
