3DPartFinder for PLM Released

The software supports CAD programs such as CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo and Inventor.

3DSemantix has released the 3DPartFinder for Oracle AutoVue and Agile PLM (product lifecycle management) Solutions. This platform, according to the company, helps accelerate product development and productivity with assets and related data.

The 3DPartFinder does not require a CAD station to locate similar parts in AutoVue. Users can use the application to locate the most appropriate manufacturing process, quality inspection checklist or any other document in the Oracle PLM system. It also leverages data store within Oracle systems, so there is no need to copy existing 3D models for indexing or a new part management system.

Supported CAD formats for 3DPartfinder include CATIA V5, NX, PTC Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Solid Edge and SolidWorks.

“Manufacturing companies are continually challenged to bring innovative and profitable products to market faster. With 3DPartFinder for AutoVue, companies can fully exploit the value of existing intellectual property”, says Thierry Bonfante, senior director, Product Development AutoVue and Fusion Visualization at Oracle. “With advanced shape-based search capabilities, engineers and librarians can quickly and efficiently locate optimal parts for reuse. Candidate parts are ranked by similarity and securely displayed in AutoVue, where users can analyze and compare models and make a final selection; thereby reducing costs and speeding up time-to-market.”
