2D CAD Program CADintosh 8.5 Adds DWG Export and More

Lemke Software GmbH announces CADintosh 8.5, update to its 2D CAD program for macOS. The app offers users a variety of tools to create technical, mechanical and architectural drawings. Version 8.5 brings various new features and updates, including a new DWG export feature, localizations, additional drawing data fields, a WYSIWYG font menu and more.

CADintosh offers a simple user interface. The number of CAD elements that can be used in the app is limited only by the available memory in the user's Mac. The app offers eight pens with fully definable line widths and colors, six different line types and supports 1,024 layers. Pre-settings are saved with each drawing.

CADintosh creates drawings composed of multiple layers that can easily be organized into groups. The app offers a wide variety of design tools that can be used to create professional CAD drawings.

CADintosh 8.5 brings several new and updated features. The update also provides bug fixes and performance enhancements.

New features include: DWG export and dialog for setting the default unit and scale upon creating a new drawing. Updated features include localizations; more drawing data fields (changes document file format); identifiers to drawing data dialog; enhanced contrast of thumbnail icon; font and text height to available set options; and WYSIWYG font menu with option to disable in the preferences.

CADintosh allows easy importing and exporting of several file types, including DXF, HPGL, IGES and PDF. While the app already includes a wide selection of internal symbols, paid versions of the app can also import and export symbol libraries. Created symbols can be saved in an archive. Projects can be created using either imperial or metric units.

The app, CADintosh, is free to try, according to Thorsten. “We know once users see what the app offers, they'll appreciate its excellent return on investment.”

Language support is available for English, Danish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese. Device requirements are macOS 10.8 or later; macOS 10.15 Catalina compatible and 43.3 MB.

CADintosh 8.5 is $33.99 USD (or an equivalent amount in other currencies) and is available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Graphics & Design category. It can also be directly purchased online from the Lemkesoft website for $32.00 (USD). Version 8.5 is a free update for all CADintosh 8.x users.
