Zortrax is showing its new products at Formnext 2022, in Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center/Messe Frankfurt, hall 11.1 stand C28. The company is presenting the Powerful Trio, a newly released resin 3D printing ecosystem, and new high-end photopolymers from resin manufacturers, Henkel/Loctite and BASF Forward AM. The company is also exhibiting a new medical 3D printer and materials for metal 3D printing.

“Zortrax and BASF Forward AM joined forces already in the early stages of the machine development, allowing a well-thought-through validation process and excellent fit of resins to the Inkspire 2 characteristics. The unique composition of the printer’s high intensity UV light engine, easy, automated, and user-friendly Cleaning and Curing Stations are a perfect match with the Ultracur3D resins, resulting in faster curing and post-processing times,” says Dr. Piotr A. Bazuła, global key account and business development at BASF.

The range of BASF Ultracur3D resins calibrated on the Zortrax Inkspire 2 is set to grow in the future, the company says. Zortrax has been cooperating with BASF also on FDM materials, and our offer is going to be expanded here, too.

At the Formnext stand, all participants can check out professional Tough resins by Henkel/Loctite. Tough resins can endure very high loads before they break.

“Zortrax is an excellent system for anyone needing to produce high-quality parts consistently. Combining the Zortrax resin system and Loctite materials can add value to designers, manufacturers, universities and many more,” says Maarten Adolf, sr. business development manager—3D printing Europe at Henkel.

At Formnext 2022 Zortrax will show new materials for Zortrax Endureal, its industrial LPD Plus 3D printer. What's new are packages dedicated to metal 3D printing: Zortrax Full Metal Package 316L with BASF Ultrafuse 316L and Zortrax Full Metal Package 17-4 PH with BASF Ultrafuse 17-4 PH. Another material available on Endureal will be Victrex AM 200 FIL (PAEK), which offers high resistance o abrasion, heat and corrosion even in contact with liquids or chemicals.

Another dual-extrusion 3D printer, Zortrax M300 Dual, in turn, will get new printing profiles for external materials in Z-SUITE. The range of filaments will be extended with filaments from such manufacturers as Kimya, Nanovia and 3DxTech.

At Formnext 2022, the Zortrax team will also present 4D models: first successful demonstrators with electrically activated movement printed on the M300 Dual 3D printer under a European Space Agency contract. 4D printing technology means that 3D models can change their geometry under the influence of external stimuli (e.g., structures that fold when the ambient temperature falls below a certain value, or mechanisms in which movement is activated electrically). In this joint project, the 4D printing capability was achieved using multi-material printing feature currently under development for Z-SUITE software.

For those not able to come to Formnext, there's more. Zortrax now offers a tool allowing to convert .gcode file to .zcode and .zcodex2 formats. From now on, all users of any slicers other than Z-SUITE, can follow simple steps to get a .zcode or .zcodex2 file to 3D print on any Zortrax LPD or LPD Plus machine. To download the tool, go to the Downloads section at Zortrax Support Center: https://support.zortrax.com/downloads/.

Formnext 2022 attendees can learn about a new comprehensive solution for medical customers: a 3D printer and complementing software.
