VX Corporation Releases Version 14.2 of VX 2009

VX Corporation, a developer of integrated CAD/CAM solutions, has released VX 2009 v14.2.

This release, according to the company, contains many user-inspired enhancements, particularly in such areas as drafting, modeling,  and 2-5 axis CAM. Performance enhancements to the direct edit shape morph technology have been made, and capabilities for sectioning of unhealed imported parts have been improved.

As a step to increase performance, users can now build what is called a “lightweight” morph feature that, says the company, can be edited and tweaked more rapidly. This enhancement is said to be especially important to users who leverage shape morphing for non-stylistic applications such as bending and unbending parts, model repair, back draft correction, and applying over bend.

VX 2009 v14.2 also offers enhancements to the solution’s capabilities for producing section views of unhealed imported parts for quoting and inspection. The latest enhancement “rounds out the toolkit” by supporting bent sections of open shapes.

“These latest enhancements to VX 2009 version 14.2 are just two examples of our responsiveness to our customer needs,” said Bob Fischer, VX Vice President Sales and Marketing, in a press statement. “We are continually striving to provide customer-driven updates to our software.”

VX 2009 v14.2 supports direct import of Parasolid-based files as well as Pro/ENGINEER and CATIA files, and it has interfaces for STEP and IGES models. A fully integrated and scalable CAD/CAM system, VX 2009 is available in versions for users requiring a general set of drafting, modeling, and assembly tools for conceptual and mechanical design. Versions are available as well for users requiring advanced 3D design functions, integrated mold and die design, as well as integrated 3D design and advanced CAM. A complete system, known as VX End-to-End, provides all the tools that VX offers,  including advanced modeling, PDM, rendering, healing, format exchange, and milling. Pricing begins at $995.

Customers running earlier versions of VX 2009 can download and install the update from support.vx.com.   Customers running older versions of VX (VX 2008 V13.xx and earlier) can purchase an update to V14 from the VX web store or from their local reseller.
