Software Cradle has announced the release of SC/Tetra Version 11, its unstructured grid computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software for simulations in various industries including automotive, turbo-machinery, and other product designs. Version 11 provides a new ]Modify solid] toolbox, which enables solid shape modifications of CAD data as a standard function of the SC/Tetra pre-processor.

The version 11 solver features a new liquid film model that, along with the existing particle tracking function, helps users simulate droplets spattering to a wall and turning into a liquid film. The new version also offers visualization schemes of simulation results. One of them is the ]Moving arrows] function, which helps users understand three-dimensional flow patterns at a glance.

The company also announced Version 11 of its scSSTREAM and Heat Designer products. scSTREAM is the company’s structured grid CFD software for simulations in architecture, civil engineering, and product design. Heat Designer is an edition of scSTREAM specializing in thermal design of electronics.

According to the company, version 11 helps simulate electronics more in detail with its new ElectronicPartsMaker. This utility tool allows users to create a model of SOP (Small Outline Package) or QFP (Quad Flat Package) and to save it as a library file of scSTREAM/Heat Designer pre-processor.

Version 11 of EOopti is also available. EOopti is the company’s optimization engine with MOGA (Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm). As an extension option of the CFD products, it can help users solve design problems, the company says.

The new version offers a new random sampling method. It enables a non-universal distribution of design parameter values, as opposed to a universal distribution of the existing Latin Hypercube sampling.

According to the company, accuracy of response surface has improved with the introduction of EGO (Efficient Global Optimization). EGO achieves the better accuracy by adding sampling points where the EI (Expected Improvement) or RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) indicator becomes the maximum.
