With the release of KeyShot 4, Luxion has implemented new functionality between KeyShot 4 and Creo 2.0 that allows users to push their design changes directly from the Creo 3D modeling application into KeyShot and have the entire KeyShot scene update automatically. In addition, Luxion has added the ability for mechanism animations created within Creo to be directly imported into KeyShot via the free KeyShot plug-in for Creo.
With the KeyShot plug-in installed, KeyShot and Creo are connected in a live session Creo users will be able to make a change to the design at any level, update geometry, add, delete or move components and send those updates directly to a running session of KeyShot. The scene inside KeyShot will update automatically while maintaining all materials (animation, camera and lighting setup). Optionally, the user can add new design iteration to the scene rather than updating the existing design.
Included with the KeyShot plug-in is the ability to transfer Creo mechanism into KeyShot. Users can create their mechanisms in Creo, or take existing mechanisms, and with the selection of a button on the KeyShot tab, transfer the animation via the .fra animation file, directly into KeyShot. The animations can be played back, adjusted in length or used to create additional animation sequences. Once satisfied with the setup, the user can render out a high quality movie of the animation.
