The KISTERS 3DViewStation product family provides AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) and BIM (building information modeling visualization solutions for desktop, mobile, browsers and virtual reality.
“3DViewStation provides a solid foundation as it supports all important file formats used in the BIM space. Not only does it support Revit, IFC, gITF and CPIXML but, it also supports historic AEC 2D file formats like DWG, DXF, even TIFF (in the case of old, scanned drawings). We even give access to attributes or linked metadata which might reside in separate files or a data management system,” says Kelly Baumann, KISTERS North America business development manager.
“KISTERS gives users the choice to review, approve or compare documents and 3D models by performing measurements, sections and clash detections,” Baumann adds. “With 3DViewStation, all of their visualization needs can be met on their desktop Windows PC, in a browser, on their mobile device or even in real size, using VR.”
KISTERS 3DViewStation WebViewer can be applicable for cloud-based online project management solutions, according to Kisters. To ensure intellectual property protection and speed, WebViewer reportedly never streams geometries to the client, the company notes. The integration can be done in little time with a few lines of code by leveraging the company's application programming interfaces (APIs). The company adds that its products share nearly identical APIs, enabling the ability to connect the 3DViewStation Desktop and VR-Edition for offline and power users.
3DViewStation ships with current and mature importers for a broad range of 3D and 2D formats including i.e. Catia, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, Revit, JT, 3D-PDF, STEP, DWG, DXF, DWF, MS Office and more.
KISTERS 3DViewStation is continuously enhanced in response to customer needs and requirements, the company notes. It is available as Desktop, ActiveX, VR-Edition and HTML5 WebViewer product-versions. All products are intended to be used together with a product lifecycle management, enterprise resource planning or other management system product configuration or service and spare part applications, providing all necessary APIs. For cloud, portal and web-solutions, there is an HTML5-based WebViewer solution available, which does not require client installation. All file formats can be used in combination with the navigation and hyperlinking features to address complex integration scenarios.
