Printer manufacturer 3D Systems has announced a couple of key distribution partnerships that will help the company expand its reach in global manufacturing, architecture and dental markets.
In early March, the company announced a multi-national distribution agreement with Henry Schein, which provides health products to office-based dental, animal health and medical facilities. Schein will offer 3DS dental printers to dental laboratory customers in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Australia and Thailand.
Schein will market the micro-SLA Projet 1200 and Projet 3510 DP Pro as part of its dental laboratory offering, which also includes 3D scanners, software, installation and post-sales support.
Canon Europe, meanwhile, has signed a UK distribution agreement with 3D Systems that includes sales and support of the Projet 1200, 3500 series, 4500, 6000 and 7000 in the UK and Ireland. The company hopes to expand the agreement to cover the rest of Europe in the future.
Canon Marketing Japan announced a similar agreement with 3D Systems in 2014.
“At Canon we’re continually assessing new market opportunities where we believe we can make a difference to our customers,” said Jeppe Frandsen, head of the production printing group at Canon Europe. “It’s clear that, because of the potential business benefits it can deliver, 3D printing is one such opportunity. Not only does this add to an extensive technology portfolio that few can match, but we also believe we can deliver an exceptional sales and service experience to fully support our customers in this innovative and dynamic area of the market.”
