Tecplot, Inc. has released the 2010 versions of Tecplot 360 and Tecplot Focus, the company’s visualization software applications.
Tecplot 360 is computational fluid dynamics (CFD) visualization and analysis software that combines engineering plotting and data visualization into one tool. Tecplot Focus is engineering plotting software designed to help users plot, analyze, and present engineering and test data.
“Our testing showed that the 2010 versions of Tecplot 360 and Tecplot Focus load data up to three times faster than the previous versions,” says Mike Peery, CEO and president of Tecplot, Inc. “That, combined with further improvements in output and usability, lets our users concentrate more on their engineering work and less on running the software they need to generate results.”
Enhancements to the 2010 version of Tecplot 360 allow users to:
- Load data faster than previous versions.
- Use TrueType and Unicode annotatations.
- Track the directory most recently used to open or save files.
- Install faster for deployment across multiple departments, divisions, or locations.
- Take advantage of an improved EnSight loader. Tecplot 360 2010 now loads EnSight-format polyhedral, transient, and measured data.
Tecplot Focus 2010 users also will see the same faster data loading capabilities, ability to present in any language, fewer clicks, and simplified deployments offered in Tecplot 360 2010, according to the company.
Tecplot 360 2010 is available in the 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Vista, and XP; Mac OS X, Linux, Linux Itanium, and most major UNIX platforms. Annual license pricing starts at $3,200 in the U.S. Tecplot 360 users with current SMS agreements can upgrade to the latest version at no cost.
Tecplot Focus 2010 is available 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Vista, and XP; Mac OS X, and Linux. Pricing starts at $1,500 in the U.S. for a single-user perpetual license. Tecplot Focus users with current SMS agreements can upgrade to the latest version at no cost.
